A 911 call was received from Texas Disposal Systems recycling center at 9:45 a.m. Thursday reporting a body had been found on a conveyer belt at the facility. The body is of an unidentified male and while officials from the Travis County Sheriffs Office say there is no evidence of foul play, they are treating it as a suspicious death.
The case is under investigation and depending on autopsy results, the case may or may not be moved to a homicide status. Officials say they have every tool needed to find out where the body came from, including surveillance cameras and are certain they’ll find where the body originated.
This isn’t the first time a body has been found at the Texas Disposal Systems recycling center. In April, 2015 the body of 49-year Clarence Gardner Jr. was found in the same area. Leigh Bohart, a 52-year-old woman was arrested for Gardner’s death in 2016. Both were homeless. Charges against her were dropped when 56-year-old Mark Kenady pled guilty to Gardner’s death in 2017.
