Ascension Seton opened a new healthcare clinic in Dripping Springs on Thursday, Nov. 12, giving people in rural areas quick, convenient access to physicians without making a long trip to the city.
“This is a growing community and Seton is an established landmark in Austin healthcare,” said Dr. Brian Jameson, M.D. “We’ve been expanding to reach out into the rural market and help provide care out here so people don’t have such a difficult time going to Austin to get quality care. Seton is a large network with specialists and resources, so it’s good for a big organization to reach out to the community and provide some care.”
The population of Dripping Springs within city limits was 3,277 in 2018, according to data by the U.S. Census Bureau. Dripping Springs experienced growth by nearly 82% since 2013.
Ascension Seton Dripping Springs Health Center will be run by Dr. Jameson along with certified physician’s assistant, Catherine Edwards, along with other nurses and staff members.
The two physicians’ specialties include preventative care such as annual physicals, health screenings for men and women’s health and geriatrics. They can also manage a range of chronic medical conditions such as high blood pressure, arthritis, asthma diabetes and more. The team can also diagnose and treat acute medical conditions, including illness and injuries.
Patients can also seek guidance on nutrition, health and fitness from the team. If there is a condition that needs a specialist, they will refer patients as necessary.
While the center only offers primary care, there are plans for expansion. Other specialty physicians will be coming into Ascension Seton Dripping Springs Health Center after the first of the year, but there are no further details as to which specialties will make their way in.
“We’re excited to be part of the community that’s growing,” Jameson said, “we want to grow with the community and be part of the community.”
