Starting Feb. 4, construction crews will close Burleson Street from Center Street to Tenorio to start on underground drainage and utility work on the roadway.

The fixes are part of the city's Burleson Street improvement project. According to city officials, work on this section of Burleson Street is expected to take eight weeks, weather permitting.

Cross streets will be open for residents who live along Burleson Street. However, no through traffic will be allowed.

Officials urge commuters to use caution when driving near the construction area. Detours include cutting through parts of the Silverado subdivision or using the southbound Interstate 35 frontage road.
