A former city attorney and Vietnam Veteran has been appointed to the Wimberley City Council dais after the abrupt resignation of Patricia Kelly in December 2018.

Patrick Rehmet, a Wimberley resident and former city attorney for the cities of Alice, Johnson City, Blanco and Austin, was appointed to the Place 5 seat after a recommendation from Council member Mike McCullough.

Rehmet, a civil engineer, practicing attorney for more than four decades and a war veteran, said he is excited to work on the council, citing his previous experience in local government.
