For the seventh straight year in a row, the Dripping Springs Tiger girls cross country team is state bound.
A podium finish at the Region IV, 5A Championships in Corpus Christi Monday helped Dripping Springs punch another ticket to state, which will be held Nov. 9 at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock.
Dripping Springs secured the silver medal in the Region IV, 5A race and finished 45 points behind Regional champion Boerne Champion.
Meanwhile, the Tiger boys cross country team will once again join the girls in Round Rock after they also secured a third place team finish in the Boys IV, 5A meet. It marks the third straight year Dripping Springs’ boys cross country team is headed for the state meet.
Also headed to state Nov. 9 are a pair of Wimberley High cross country athletes who secured individual podium finishes in the Region IV, 4A race Monday.
Texan runner Ashlyn Royal finished fourth in the IV, 4A girls race, while Griffin Neal took home 5th place in the boys 4A race.
