Donning alter-egos such as “The Book of Mermon” and “Little Blurmaid,” a handful of rowdy roller derby participants rolled, spun and even tossed in a hip check or three during an exhibition bout in Buda. Saturday’s event, hosted by the Texas Roller Derby Wreck (get it?) League, pitted the Unicorns against the Mermaids in a battle to determine who was the sparkliest of them all.
