Six wins over a three-day period pushed the Dripping Springs Lady Tiger basketball team to a gold medal finish at the Battlin’ Billie Classic held in Fredericksburg Dec. 12-14.
That included a 53-51 nail biting victory over Mason in the tournament title game. With the victories, Dripping Springs (14-4) extends its winning streak to 12 straight games dating back to Dec. 3.
So far this season, Tiger Caroline Gamble leads the team with a 12.2 points per game average, with Corbyn Davis tallying 11.8 points per contest. Tiger Avery Johnson has snagged a team-leading 6.1 rebound per game average with Kline Stafford getting 5.5 boards.
Prior to winning the Billie Classic, Dripping Springs opened district play with a dominating 62-32 win over the Travis Rebels.
Dripping Springs continued district play Dec. 20 when they squared off against Crockett at home. Following a trip to play in the Keller Central tournament, Dripping Springs plays at Austin Navarro at 5 p.m. before hosting LBJ Jan. 7 at 7 p.m.
