The 2019 Sacred Springs Powwow will be held this weekend along the shores of Spring Lake in San Marcos.

Hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

More than 100 dancers from dozens of Native American tribes from across North America will compete for prizes to the beat of drums, and also on hand will be vendors of Native American crafts and foods. Some 6,000 people are expected to attend.

Each day begins with a public blessing at the “Sacred Springs,” believed by the Coahuiltecan people to be where human beings ascended to the earth. Tickets are available at the festival’s entrance, and parking is available in the parking lots on both sides of Bobcat Stadium. Shuttles will run from 9:30 a.m. until 6:30 p.m.
