On Feb. 28, Kyle Cultural Awarness, a nonprofit founded by Laura McMahon, partnered with the Kyle Public Library for the inaugural Black History Month program. The program included Nelson Linder from Austin NAACP, as well as several Hays CISD school board trustees. Linder and Kyle Mayor Pro-Tem Dex Ellison spoke on migration of African-Americans and how to encourage residents to learn about their histories.
