No one was hurt and no property was damaged after a malfunction led to multiple fireworks lighting and detonating at the same time in Thursday's Independence Day celebration in Kyle.
According to city officials, the malfunction happened roughly 10 minutes into the show and caused a few small grass fires that were quickly put out by the Kyle Fire Department. Kyle officials said the show is insured and the only damage was burnt grass.
Officials are exploring options for either a re-show or adding a fireworks display during the Kyle Pie in the Sky festival in September.
