TxDOT to hold open houses on road improvements

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) will host two open houses to gather input from the community regarding safety and mobility needs along US 290 from RM 1826 in Austin to RM 12 in Dripping Springs.

The first will be Tuesday, Oct. 6, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Dripping Springs Ranch Park, 1042 Event Center Drive, Dripping Springs, and the second will be Thursday, Oct. 10, form 5 to 7 p.m. at the Oak Hill United Methodist Church, 7815 US 290, Austin.

No formal presentation will be given and attendees can come and go at their convenience. Study team members will be available to answer questions and receive input from the public. Those unable to attend the meeting in person can review materials online.

Individuals may email comments to [email protected] or mail in their comments to: Alem Workie, TxDOT Austin District, P.O. Box 15426, Austin, TX 78761. For more information on the project, visit www.txdot.gov and enter the keywords “US 290 from Oak Hill.” To be included in the public record, all comments must be received by Monday, Oct. 21.

These open houses launch the US 290 from Oak Hill to Dripping Springs Planning and Feasibility Study. The purpose of this study is to identify long-term safety and mobility solutions for the US 290 corridor.

An online survey is also available at www.surveymonkey.com/r/US290W. The survey will remain open until Monday, Oct. 21.
