A handful of Dripping Springs Tiger tennis athletes are vying for a berth in the state tournament when they participate in the Region IV championships in San Antonio this week.
Competing for the Tigers will be district champions Tallulah Andrushko (girls singles), Karley Higgerson and Whitney Robbins (girls doubles), and Will Gretzinger and Jeffrey Walker (boys' doubles).
Also advancing to the regional tournament are the girls doubles team of Alyssa Caldwell and Katherine Farber, the boys doubles team of Thane Johannsen and Henry Lovelace and the mixed doubles team of Alyssa Caldwell and Matthew McBurney.
The Region IV tennis tournament began Wednesday and continues Thursday at the Northeast ISD Tennis Center at 12002 Jones-Maltsberger Road in San Antonio.
