DRIPPING SPRINGS – To keep serving the elderly community, the Friends Foundation is hosting an online auction for its 29th annual fundraiser, in which all proceeds are used to support its services and programs in Dripping Springs.
Pecan Grove, formerly known as the Salt Lick Pavilion, where the Friends Foundation has held fundraisers with thousands of attendees for a couple of decades, has closed indefinitely.
“It was difficult,” the Friends Foundation stated in a news release, “but with little time to consider other venues, we feel it was a necessary decision to begin planning for an Online Auction, as we’ve had during the pandemic the past two years.”
Registration begins and gold tickets ($100 each) will be on sale Monday, Oct. 3 at 10 a.m. Ticket sales end (or when 100 tickets are sold) on Tuesday, Oct. 11 at 6 p.m. The Online Auction opens Thursday, October 13 at 10 a.m. and closes Saturday, October 22 at 8 p.m.
The Gold Ticket winner in the electronic drawing will have their pick of (one) item from our Feature Items list.
The Online Auction will help sustain programs and services such as Our Daily Bread™, a program providing meals to local area elderly residents; Philips Lifeline, providing a medic alert device and peace of mind for stay at home seniors; and Financial Assistance for life’s necessities and emergencies.
Businesses and individuals are encouraged to become sponsors and forms will be available soon at thefriendsfoundation.org. Businesses wanting to donate items or gift certificates to be included in our Online Auction, please contact The Friends Foundation at info@thefriendsfoundation.org or call (512) 592-1345.
