A substitute teacher at Lehman High School was fired Friday after video circulated of an altercation with a student.
Tiffani Shadell Lankford, 32, is charged with aggravated assault, a second degree custody. She is due to see a judge on Saturday morning.
The Hays County Sheriff’s Office said a School Resource officer received information “of an assault that just occurred in one of the classrooms” at Lehman, involving a “guest teacher” and a 15-year-old female student.
Lt. Dennis Gutierrez said the victim was released to her father, who took her to a local hospital for evaluation. Gutierrez said the investigation is ongoing and urged anyone who might have information to contact the Hays County Sheriff’s Office at 512-393-7896 and speak with the Criminal Investigations Division.
