More than 50 Dripping Springs High track and field athletes will take to Austin this week for the 25 and 26-5A area meet held at Tony Burger Stadium. The meet began Wednesday and continues Thursday at Toney Burger Stadium. The top four finishers in each event advance to the Region IV meet to be held April 25-26 at Alamo Stadium in San Antonio. Advancing to area are both the Dripping Springs boys and girls track programs, which collected the team gold medal at the 25-5A championships in Austin in mid-April. Athletes who captured gold at the district meet are: Marleena Mickel (1600 meters, 3200 meters); Susie Alvarado (100-meter hurdles); Avery Kalsu (400-meter, high jump); Audrey Williamson (300-meter hurdles); Harper Owens (Pole vault); Bobby Holt (800-meter run); Jack Dombroski (110-meter hurdles); Ty Kaatz (400-meter run); Luke Lawyer (High jump); Aiden Cavender (Pole vault); and Tyler Herron, Andre Perry, Zyle Nance, Ty Kaatz (4x400-meter relay).
