The Chemistry Olympiad is a competition of chemistry knowledge sponsored by the American Chemical Society (ACS). There is a local, national, and international level. In the local section, the top scoring student from each high school was chosen to compete at the national level. There are 10 high schools that competed in the local level, including Lehman High. Five Lehman High students, Isaac Salazar (feature photo), Alyssa Saunders, Jettra Khuth, Jesus Meza, and Dylan Durocher, competed at the event. Isaac scored the highest and will now advance to the national level to be held on April 21 at St. Edwards University in Austin. This is the first time that Lehman High has participated in this competition.
