Nine Lehman High art students have completed work on personalized images of Russian orphans, which will be sent to the Russian youth. Lobo art teacher Debra Flynn using a Hays Education Foundation grant, has been working with what is known as “The Memory Project” in past years. Through the grant, a sponsoring agency in Russia sends photographs of homeless or neglected youth, with participating students on this end of the project creating visionary portraits to return to, and be enjoyed by, those specific Russian youth. This year’s participating Lobos include (back, L-R): Stephanie Lucio, Amaya Barberena, Jay Barrientos, Clarisa Sanchez, Ethan Boone; (front, L-R): Stefani Macias, Arcelia Deleon, Marisa Tambur, Elizabeth Garcia.
