For the next two weeks, Kyle public works officials will close the north side of Burleson Street during daytime hours to allow for Pedernales Electric Cooperative (PEC) to relocate utility poles and lines.
Officials will close Burleson Street between Selvera and Rodriguez starting January 23. Relocation is expected to take roughly two weeks, weather permitting.
During this time, PEC will relocate their poles and transmission lines along the curve on Burleson. The contractor will set out the barricades and signage on Tuesday. There may also be tree removal work happening during this time.
Northbound traffic will be detoured onto Selvera, loop around the back on De Leon and turn left onto Rodriguez going west to get back to Burleson, and vice versa for southbound Burleson Street traffic.
Residents living on the west side of Burleson off of Star of Texas and Bellair will need to access Burleson through the Spring Branch neighborhood.
Residents who live in the Pete Dresser homes will have access via Burleson Street.
