Three second half goals helped the Lehman Lobos boys soccer team secure a critical 3-1 district win over the crosstown rival Hays Rebels Tuesday at Lobo Field.
“It was a good win for the guys,” Lehman Head Coach Rene Medina said. “We’ve been telling them they need to find themselves through hard work and through character and I think they did that tonight.”
The Lobos controlled the pace of the game with great ball control and passing, even after surrendering an early goal to Hays in the first half. Lehman’s defense tightened up in the second half and wound up only giving up five shots on goal. Lehman finished the game with 18 shots on goal, while holding Hays to a total of nine shots on goal.
