Authorities have identified Daniel Adrian Gonzalez, 52, of Austin, as the victim in Thursday's single-vehicle wreck on the southbound I-35 frontage road near Kyle Parkway.
According to a city of Kyle press release, Gonzalez, who was driving a white 2006 Mazda MPV, was traveling southbound on the I-35 access road when he collided with a concrete barrier at the Kyle Parkway intersection at 8:45 p.m.
Jeff Barnett, Kyle Police chief, said authorities closed the frontage road down for two hours as they investigated the scene.

Authorities are investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash that occurred late Thursday on the southbound Interstate 35 frontage road near the Kyle Parkway intersection.
One adult male, who has not yet been identified pending notification of next of kin, was named as the lone victim in the wreck, said Kim Hilsenbeck, Kyle communications specialist.
The accident forced authorities to close the intersection for several hours as they worked to clear the scene. However, authorities at the scene did not have details of how the crash occurred.
