The 2018 Dripping Springs High Varsity winter guard was awarded the Silver Medal in Scholastic National A Class at the Texas Color Guard Circuit State Championships at Texas A&M University on April 7. Dripping Springs High was seeded third of 29 teams after area-level competition, then placed second in a 15-team field in the final round. The TCGC Championships culminated the competitive season that began in early December. The 15-member Varsity Winterguard consists of three seniors and 12 juniors.
This year’s show was called “The Unreachable Star” set to the song “The Impossible Dream” from “The Man of La Mancha.” The DSHS Winterguard is under the direction of Derek Woods.
