The Friends Foundation 25th annual barbecue at the Salt Lick’s Pecan Grove will be held 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Oct. 11. This event will be an evening of western swing music, Salt Lick BBQ buffet, a live and silent auction, and an opportunity to support the Foundation’s programs benefiting the elderly in the greater Dripping Springs area.
The gates open at 5 p.m. with the silent auction bidding beginning at that time. Take some time to preview the live auction items before heading to the BBQ buffet served from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Parking is free and handicap parking is available.
Before heading to the buffet, guests can enjoy product samples from Dripping Springs Vodka, Thirsty Planet Brewery, Duchman Family Winery, Moonshine Sweet Tea and appetizers by Thai Gourmet. Be sure to purchase a wristband for $10 to play Heads or Tails an exciting fun game with a fabulous prize awarded to the winner.
The award-winning Hot Texas Swing Band will be playing live western swing music from their latest recording ‘Off the Beaten Trail’ as well as old-time favorites during the event. KVET 98.1 personality Bama Brown will emcee the evening’s festivities.
Professional benefit auctioneer George L. Vaught will engage and entertain the audience while working to raise money for this worthy cause during the live auction.
Numerous live auction items will be up for bids including two round-trip tickets on Southwest Airlines, a full-day chauffeured wine tour for four from Discover Texas Wine Tours, a framed private collection of historic arrowheads, wine tasting with food pairings for 12 at Texas Hills Vineyards, a one-night stay at Asante in their tree house suite with a tour, meal and cocktails for two at Treaty Oak, a one night stay at Hill Country Casitas with a vineyard tour and tasting at Hawk’s Shadow Winery, and other live auction items.
