An unrelenting offensive attack led the Dripping Springs Tigers to a crucial 52-35 district win over the LBJ Jaguars Friday at Tiger Stadium.
With the victory, Dripping Springs (5-1, 3-0) remains tied with Seguin for first place in 12-5A, Division I with four games left.

At the center of Dripping Springs' success was quarterback Tanner Prewit, who completed roughly 60 percent of his passes on the night and threw for more than 280 yards and three touchdowns. Prewit also rushed for 57 yards and a score.
Tiger wide receiver Cameron O'Banan helped the effort by catching seven passes for 110 yards and two touchdowns, while wide receiver Parker Alford had 101 receiving yards and a score. Running back Jake Cox led the team with 157 yards and two touchdowns on the night.
Dripping Springs sprinted out of the gates and took a 7-0 lead via an 11-yard Cox touchdown run less than two minutes into the game.
LBJ, however, needed less than 20 seconds to respond. An 82-yard touchdown run by Jaleel Scott on the ensuing play from scrimmage tied the score at 7-7.
The Tigers then put the pedal to the metal by scoring 28 unanswered points over a 12 minute span midway through the first half. Aiding the cause was a Dripping Springs defense that forced two fumbles and a turnover on downs, allowing the Tigers shorter fields to operate with.
Capping off the scoring blitz was a 19-yard touchdown run by Cox, placing the Tigers ahead 35-7 early in the second frame.
LBJ fought back and closed the gap to 38-21 late in the third quarter via a two yard touchdown run by quarterback Brian Batts.[pullquote]

The Tigers kept pace and tallied two more touchdowns down the stretch.
Dripping Springs hosts Austin Lanier for homecoming Friday at Tiger Stadium at 7:30 p.m. The Tigers then travel to Seguin Oct. 26.
