A Dripping Springs man has been identified as the victim in a fatal May 6 single-vehicle wreck along Ranch Road 12 just outside of Dripping Springs.
Ernest Tamayo, 58, of Dripping Springs, was killed in the wreck, according to a Texas Department of Public Safety spokesperson.
According to a DPS report, the incident occurred around 7 p.m. May 6 on RR 12 south of Deer Creek Circle, which is roughly five miles from Dripping Springs.
The operator of a 2017 Ducati Multistrada 1200s, later identified as Tamayo, was traveling north on RR 12 at an unsafe speed and was unable to negotiate a curve, according to the report.
The motorcycle then entered a side skid and struck a mailbox, then hit a concrete culvert, causing the operator to vault.
The Ducati and the driver came to rest in the east barrow ditch of RR 12. Hays County Pct. 4 Judge Terry Kyle pronounced Tamayo dead at the scene.
