Eighteen Dripping Springs High School seniors have been honored in the 64th annual National Merit program.
Semifinalists represent less than one percent of U.S. high school seniors who were the highest scoring students on the 2017 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.
National Merit finalists will be announced in February of 2019.
To be chosen as a Commended Scholar, students must have placed among the top five percent of more than 1.5 million students nationally who took the PSAT/NMSQT. Approximately 34,000 Commended Scholars are being recognized nationwide.
The 17 Commended students from Dripping Springs High School are Reed Lohman, John Babiak, Edouard Ballett, Katherine Bender, Isabel Bermudez, Ethan French, Ken Gossett, Lauren Kell, Kendrick Lemmond, Catherine Manning, Ben Marsan, Jacob McKee, John Nolen, Ryan Nowicki, Kamal Turner, Varun Verma, Alexandra Voss, and Samuel White.
