Koch claims victory in Kyle council race

UPDATE – 1:00 am. 


In a tight battle for the Kyle City Council Place 5 seat, Rick Koch narrowly edged Robert Rizo by 79 votes to earn his place on the dais. 


Koch, who currently serves as the Kyle Planning and Zoning Chair, had a 62-vote lead after early voting, which only grew by a handful of votes after Election Day, according to unofficial, final results. 


The Kyle City Council will canvass the results at a later date.

Kyle City Council, Place 5 


Rich Koch – 3,268 (50.61%)


Robert Rizo – 3,189 (49.39%)


UPDATE – 9:40 p.m.


With 30 of 50 precincts reporting, Rick Koch maintains a slight edge over Robert Rizo for the Place 5 City Council seat.


Koch has roughly 50.37 percent of the vote while Rizo has 49.63 percent.


7:20 p.m.


Early voting results show Rick Koch has taken a slight 62 vote lead against Robert Rizo in the District 5 Kyle City Council race.


With 54.52 percent votes cast, Koch has accumulated 2,514 votes against Rizo's 2,446 votes, according to early voting numbers.


Rick Koch: 2,514 (50.69%)


Robert Rizo: 2,446 (49.31%)
