Hays Rebels (7-1, 5-1) vs. Lake Travis Cavaliers (7-1, 5-1)

Who wants to play Converse Judson the least? That question will be answered Friday as Hays and Lake Travis battle for playoff positioning, with the loser taking on Judson, currently ranked 3rd in Class 6A, in the first round of the postseason in two weeks. At the center of Friday's game is the Rebel defense and whether or not they can rebound and withstand another high-powered attack. Lake Travis, currently ranked 10th in Class 6A, is led by the combo of QB Hudson Card and WR Garrett Wilson, who are part of a unit that's averaging 42 points per contest and close to 370 total yards per game. Conversely, can the Rebel offense find their groove again? Hays' offense struggled last week committing three total turnovers and gaining less than 300 total yards. They'll take on a Lake Travis defense that while conceded 229 yards rushing to Del Valle a week previous, has limited district opponents to no more than three touchdowns per contest. A possible factor to watch for is time of possession. If Hays maintains possession and soaks up the time, they could place themselves in line for a major upset.
Dripping Springs Tigers (6-2, 4-1) vs. Reagan Raiders (1-7, 1-4)

Expect backups to see ample playing time for Dripping Springs Friday as they close their home schedule against woeful Reagan. Through five district contests, Reagan has only tallied 60 points, which makes up just over half of its total offensive output this season. Conversely, Reagan's defense has given up 55 points per game in district play. It should be an easy night for Dripping Springs, which is trying to recover from a heartbreaking overtime loss to Seguin. But it also could be a moment to prepare for what could be a challenging postseason road. Current projections show Dripping Springs possibly taking on state power Cedar Park in the bidistrict round.
Wimberley Texans (3-5, 2-1) at Llano Yellowjackets (5-3, 1-2)

While a game against Cuero looms, the Wimberley Texans will aim to solidify at least third place in the district standings when they take on Llano Friday. Wimberley's defense, which struggled against Navarro last week, will be tasked with grounding Llano QB Cade Fly, who has thrown for 1,400-plus yards and 12 touchdowns so far this season. Wimberley will also have to plug Llano's ground game led by RB Mason Brooks. But can the Texans put points on the board against a downright stingy Yellowjacket defense? So far this season, Llano's defense has given up 145 total points, with 55 of that coming in their loss to Cuero. Youth and inconsistency has limited what's been a historically explosive Wimberley attack. So far this year, the Texans are averaging just over 28 points per contest.
