A large development project being kept under wraps took a step toward fruition this week as the Kyle City Council approved the final plat for a 24.562 acre development.
The commercial plat is a part of Project Magic Mint, which according to city officials, is a large development city leaders have worked on during executive sessions and are waiting to announce.
Council members unanimously approved a final residential plat Oct. 16 for a new residential development owned by Lennar Homes within Plum Creek Phase 1. The approval sets the stage for 93 new homes, and a second commercial plat was approved for 2 lots located at the intersection of Kohler’s Crossing and what will be Marketplace Avenue.
The commercial plat is a part of Project Magic Mint, which according to city officials, is a large development city leaders have worked on during executive sessions and are waiting to announce.
City leaders are waiting for developers to finalize the plan for the commercial development lots before revealing what companies will be moving in, how many jobs they will bring and how many companies there will be.
The project is expected to be revealed within the next few weeks according to Mayor Travis Mitchell.
“We’re all very excited about it,” Mitchell said. “So, I would love to say, but we’ll announce the final plans as soon as we can. They’re good.”
Maps for Plum Creek Phase 1, Section 7A show the area as a “business park,” but developers could not finalize plans until council approved the final plat.
