Lightning struck twice for the Lehman Lobos volleyball team Friday when they shocked the Del Valle Cardinals once again for a second win in district play.
That victory, which ended an eight match losing streak, marked the first time since the 2013 season Lehman’s volleyball program scored at least two wins in district play.
Lehman earned the win on the shoulders of Lauren Lara’s game-high 10 kills, while Trinity Simmons finished with six kills.
The Lobo offense circumvented Del Valle’s front line which secured four blocks on the night.
Leah Lara finished with 18 assists and Kalee Jackson had seven on the night. On the defensive side, Lehman’s Madison Webb finished with two blocks, while Olivia Scheibmeir had one block.
Lobo Ariana Sanchez finished with 21 digs on the evening.
Lehman travels to play at Hays Friday at 6:30 p.m. at Bales Gym before ending the season Oct. 23 at home against Ann Richards.
