Ten students recently were awarded $500 scholarships by the Buda United Methodist Church (BUMC) Men’s Group.
Hays High students included Amanda Mae Ashley, Melanie Chida, Blake Fall, Thomas Farrell, Samuel Grumbles, Samuel Johnson, Brittney Koopmann, Freddy Rojo and Erin Swearingen; Quinlin Hehr from Live Oak Academy was also awarded a $500 scholarship. BUMC Men’s Group hosts the annual pumpkin patch on Main Street each fall. Proceeds from pumpkin sales, along with other fundraising events during the year, support the Men’s Group scholarship fund.
