Unofficial election results show Erin Zwiener claimed the Democratic nomination for State House District 45.
With all precincts now reporting, Erin Zwiener pulled ahead of early election results where she trailed by seven percent. Zwiener secured the 51.4 percent win over Rebecca Bell-Metereau for the Democratic nomination for State House District 45.
The unofficial results from the Office of the Secretary of State show a tight race with 2,783 votes for Bell-Metereau taking 48.5 percent of the vote and 2,946 votes for Zwiener securing the 51.4 percent winning vote.
The total number of votes cast was 5,729.
In the primary election on March 6, Bell-Metereau secured the lead, however, neither of the candidates, along with Les Carnes, had not obtained the 50 percent vote needed to secure the nomination.

In early unofficial election night returns for Tuesday’s Democratic primary election runoff, Rebecca Bell-Metereau claims the lead over Erin Zwiener for the nomination for State House District 45.
Unofficial early results show Bell-Metereau securing 53 percent of absentee and early votes, while Zwiener earned 46 percent.
District 45 includes Hays and Blanco counties and is the seat in which outgoing State Rep. Jason Isaac, R-Dripping Springs sits.
At the time of reporting, 3,227 votes were cast and election day results were not yet reported, according to the Office of the Secretary of State. Two of 55 precincts are reporting results.
The runoff was prompted because neither candidate was able to secure 50 percent of the vote in the primary election in March.
The winner will face Republican primary winner Ken Strange this fall.
