Five touchdowns from senior quarterback Xavier Martinez played a pivotal role in a 55-7 Hays Rebels win over the rival Lehman Lobos at Shelton Stadium.
Hays (7-0, 5-0) notches its 13th straight win over Lehman (0-7, 0-5) while also continuing the program’s best start to a season since the 2005 campaign.
Hays took command early on by scoring three unanswered first quarter touchdowns to take a 21-0 lead. Martinez rushed for two of those scores and tossed an 18-yard touchdown pass to tight end Bayler Jordan.
