More than 250 canoers lined up at the Meadows Center in San Marcos on June 9 to begin the annual Texas Water Safari race. Canoers raced 260 miles down the San Marcos and Guadalupe rivers to make it to the city of Seadrift in 100 hours or fewer. The Texas Water Safari is known as the world’s toughest canoe race.
