DRIPPING SPRINGS – Eleven members have been selected for the Dripping Springs Comprehensive Plan Advisory Committee (CPAC).
At the March 1 regular Dripping Springs City Council meeting, staff presented information and requested direction on how to fill the positions for the CPAC. The discussion continued later in March until the council approved the final choices on May 10.
The following individuals were appointed to the committee:
Pam Owens, Business Community, Tourism
Kim Fernea, Business Community, EDC Chair
Holly Morris-Kuentz, DSISD Representative
Marcie Cochran, Dripping Springs Library
Doug Fowler, Emergency Services Representative
Ron Hood, Constable’s Office—Pct. 4
Tessa Schmidtzinsky, Pedernales Electric Cooperative
Mary Margaret Dement, Long-time City Resident
Wayne Simoneau, Long-time City Resident
Betty Meyer, Long-time City Resident
Margaret Scharold, New City Resident
The CPAC will serve as a sounding board for consultants as they process and gather the information for stakeholder interviews and public input for updating the Comprehensive Plan.
Staff recommended the committee to have diverse knowledge and input. This includes the business community like the Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Bureau; water and electricity providers; Dripping Springs ISD; Dripping Springs Library; Emergency Services District and Constable’s Office; and longtime/vested residents in both the city limits and extraterritorial jurisdiction (ETJ).
