Sheer exhaustion didn’t keep Dripping Springs High senior Bobby Holt from flashing a smile atop the medal stand at the UIL state cross country meet Saturday.
For a second straight year, Holt out-paced some of the best runners in the state en route to securing a 6th place finish out of 150-plus competitors in the boys Class 5A championships. Holt’s finish highlighted a day where both the Dripping Springs boys and girls cross country teams competed at state.
The moment was one to cherish for Holt, who credited hard work and the efforts of head coach Marisa Tuzzi for helping the entire program maki it back to state.
