Ranch Road 12 near Wimberley reopens after major wreck

Authorities have reopened a stretch of Ranch Road 12 between San Marcos and Wimberley following a major three-vehicle collision Sunday.

The incident occurred on Ranch Road 12 at Oakwood Loop, according to a tweet from the Wimberley Fire Department. Seven people were transported to area hospitals, with two of the injured transported via StarFlight helicopter, according to WFD officials. The extent of injuries is unknown at this time.

As a result of the wreck, officials shut down Ranch Road 12 at Oakwood Loop at approximately 6:30 p.m. Sunday; the road was reopened roughly an hour later at 7:25 p.m.
