Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar announced last week he will send cities, counties, transit systems and special purpose taxing districts $619.7 million in local sales tax allocations for March, 5.8 percent more than in March 2016. Hays County will see $1.2 million of that total, as sales tax revenues dropped slightly this month. Smaller cities Woodcreek, Niederwald and Uhland continue their seasonal upticks, while the county’s larger cities saw minimal revenue increase over last year. These allocations are based on sales made in January by businesses that report taxes monthly.
