Several residents have received a form titled Hays Designation of Homestead Request Form from a company called Homestead Designation Services which instructs homeowners to complete the form and submit a $45 fee. David Valle, Chief Appraiser of the Hays County Central Appraisal District, is letting homeowners know that they can download the form directly from the CAD website and there is not a fee for filing the form.
