No one was injured Thursday after a vehicle caught fire along northbound Interstate 35 near the 213 exit in Kyle.

Kyle Fire Department chief Kyle Taylor said crews contained the fire around 3 p.m.

“We got on the scene and there was an open flaming vehicle that was fully enveloped,” said Taylor.

The female driver, who has not been identified, pulled over onto the shoulder of I-35 after she saw smoke coming out of her vehicle.

The fire was contained in approximately ten minutes, Taylor said. He added the vehicle was a total loss.

Police officers briefly closed a section of the northbound I-35 access while the fire was contained.
