The heavy rains and high winds associated with Hurricane Harvey’s arrival in Central Texas was felt by many in the surrounding community. As a result, many people also snapped photos and documented some of the damage and destruction that took place this past week. Rain gauges in the area collected nearly  a foot of water in some places and winds reached 50 miles per hour, knocking down trees, fences, traffic lights and more. See below for a collection of photos submitted from residents, city officials and from our own staff on Harvey’s impact in the area.
