An altercation involving two groups at a downtown Kyle bar early Sunday escalated into an incident where a man was stabbed outside of the establishment multiple times.
Jeff Barnett, Kyle Police Chief, said authorities were dispatched to the 100 block of Center Street around 1:47 a.m. Nov. 12.
Once at the scene, officers found a 34-year-old Kyle man with multiple stab wounds. The man, who has not been identified, was transported to an Austin area hospital where he is listed in stable condition.
Witnesses told authorities the altercation began when two groups began fighting inside a downtown Kyle bar, Barnett said. Both groups were ejected from the establishment. It is unknown at this time how many people were a part of both groups, or which downtown bar the altercation took place.
Fighting between the groups continued outside of the bar, Barnett said.
Kyle Police are actively investigating the incident and would like to speak with anyone who witnessed the event.
