Traffic snarls plague FM 1626 construction

Heavy congestion is expected to continue along south FM 1626 at the intersections of RM 967 and FM 2770 as Hays County starts the next phase of its safety expansion project.

Mark Jones, Hays County Pct. 2 Commissioner, said traffic delays resulting from the improvement project will continue until December 2019, despite county leaders’ efforts to help speed up the process.

“I tell people it’s like remodeling your kitchen,” Jones said. “You don’t like doing it but you’re happy with the results when it’s done.”
