The Hays Rebel boys basketball team kicked off its season Friday with a 70-53 win over KIPP Academy. The Rebels scored the win after being down 15-12 at the end of the first quarter.
“It was a good team win,” Hays head coach Matthew Sandoval said. “A lot of guys contributed tonight. It was not our best basketball, but it is the first game of the season. So we will watch the film and some of the things were apparent we need to work on and we are going to find the things that weren’t so apparent that we need to work on and keep getting better at those things.”
