Three first quarter touchdown passes from senior quarterback Jacob Taute to senior Jamil Pittman guided the Vista Ridge Rangers to a 49-7 win over the Lehman Lobos (1-4, 0-1) Friday at Bob Shelton Stadium.
Taute and Pittman’s first score came on a 61-yard touchdown pass on the second play of the game. The duo hooked up for two more first quarter touchdown passes to give Vista Ridge a 21-0 lead.
Lobo freshman quarterback Bryant Lewis responded with a 24-yard touchdown run to start the second quarter, which was Lehman’s only points of the game.
Vista Ridge quickly answered with a 14-yard passing touchdown from Taute to senior tight end Daniel Reich. Pittman added an 11-yard rushing touchdown to push the Ranger lead to 35-7 at halftime.
Taute finished the first half with nine completions for 164 yards and four touchdowns, and also 9 carries for 66 yards rushing. Pittman led the team in receiving with five catches for 123 yards in the first half.
The Taute to Pittman connected struck again later in the second half to give Vista Ridge a 42-7 lead. Pittman finished with five total touchdowns.
Vista Ridge finished with a 34-yard rushing touchdown by senior running back Darius Johnson in the fourth quarter.
The Lobos travel to play at Vandergrift (2-3) Friday.
