Mountain City, Uhland and Niederwald in lead for sales tax revenue increases

Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar announced earlier this month he will send cities, counties, transit systems and special purpose taxing districts $779.2 million in local sales tax allocations for August, 1.3 percent more than in August 2016. Locally, smaller cities of Mountain City, Uhland and Niederwald led the way for the highest percentage increase, while San Marcos dropped nearly 5%. These allocations are based on sales made in June by businesses that report tax monthly, and sales made in April, May and June by quarterly filers.
