Update – 11:00 p.m.
After more than four hours, fire crews from three departments extinguished a blaze at a Kyle home around 8:30 p.m. Friday.
Officials' initial estimate places the cost of damage at roughly $400,000 to property and belongings at the home, located in the 100 block of Indigo Cove.
Authorities are investigating the possible spontaneous combustion of chemicals inside of the shed, where officials believe the fire started.
Authorities continue to investigate the incident.

No one was injured Friday after a fire that was believed to have started in or near a shed rapidly traveled to a home in the 100 block of Indigo Cove in Kyle.
Kyle Taylor, Kyle Fire Department chief, said the fire is under control, but added there's a "long way to go" before he declares the fire is out.
Crews from the San Marcos Fire Department, along with the North Hays County Fire Rescue are assisting the Kyle Fire Department in controlling the blaze. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time. Fire crews have not determined the extent of the damage at the home, which is under investigation.
Taylor said he was traveling along Old Stagecoach Road when he saw smoke in the air above the Hometown Kyle subdivision. Taylor said he arrived at the scene when the initial call to dispatch came in from nearby neighbors.
Marlo Treybig, who lives across the street from the home, was in her living room when she heard a fire truck pass by. Treybig said she initially went to her back door to check out the commotion, but quickly ran out to her front yard after smelling smoke.
She then realized no one was out of the home, which prompted Treybig to run across the street and alert her neighbors of the danger.
"I threw the door open and said, 'Get out, the house is on fire,'" Treybig said. "I grabbed one of their cats, they got another cat, and their boys, and we got out."
Treybig said all family members and animals are believed to be accounted for.
