A 21-point first quarter blitz helped the Dripping Springs Tigers secure a 35-14 win over the Marble Falls Mustangs Friday and the outright District 26-5A championship.
Dripping Springs’ win, which improved the team to 10-0 overall and 7-0 in district, marks the first time in over 50 years the Tigers have finished undefeated in the regular season. It also marked the first time a Dripping Springs football team has gone 10-0.
The Tigers kicked off to start, but a muffed return by Marble Falls gave the Tigers the ball. Dripping Springs immediately scored and set the tone for the first quarter.
