Fifteen kills from senior Graceyn Tippens, along with eight kills from junior Alexis Haydt and senior Ava Pritchard, helped the Dripping Springs Tigers to a 25-21, 25-15, 25-21 win over the Boerne Champion Chargers in Tuesday's regional quarterfinal at Canyon Lake High.
Dripping Springs' (36-12) win advances the team to the UIL Class 5A, Region IV tournament held in Corpus Christi. It marks the fourth time in the last five years the Tiger volleyball team has advanced to the Region IV tournament.
Dripping Springs faces off against state-ranked Tuloso Midway Friday, Nov. 10 at 6 p.m. at Veterans Memorial High in Corpus Christi.
Backing up the Tiger offense Tuesday was a 23 assist effort from sophomore Avery Kalsu. Tiger sophomore Sarah Nading provided 17 assists in the match.
On the defensive side, Dripping Springs used formidable play at the net to secure 11 total blocks in the match. Leading the way was Pritchard who had seven total blocks on the night.
Tippens helped Dripping Springs with 12 assists, while Maddie Berkholz finished with eight.
