Dripping Springs Tigers at Marble Falls Mustangs

When: Friday, Nov. 10 at 7:30 p

Where: Mustang Stadium (Marble Falls)

Last week: Dripping Springs 41, Medina Valley 0; Lockhart 28, Marble Falls 24

Last meeting: Dripping Springs 41, Marble Falls 14

An outright undefeated district championship is a win away for the Dripping Springs Tigers. Standing in their way, however, is a Marble Falls team that has been competitive in its last two contests. Despite going 1-1 during that time frame, Marble Falls has amassed 683 yards and 63 points combined. Leading the way is junior QB Andrew Stripling, along with running backs Dillon Maybery and Cooper Wilson. All of the production, however, could come to a grinding halt against a stingy Dripping Springs defense that’s allowed an average of 11 points over six district games. The Tigers may also find success against a porous Marble Falls defense. QB Trevor Greenman, RB Jake Cox, WR Johnny Hoyle and the Tiger offense has averaged 479 yards per game this season.

Wimberley Texans at Hondo Owls

When: Friday, Nov. 10 at 7:30 p.m.

Where: Owl Stadium (Hondo)

Last week: Navarro 56, Hondo 29; Wimberley was idle

Last meeting: Wimberley 49, Hondo 17

With a win Friday, Wimberley could secure the program’s first undefeated district championship in five seasons. To do so, the Texans will have to beat a Hondo program that’s equally preparing for the first round of the playoffs. Wimberley will bring a prolific aerial assault that’s led by QB JoJo Weeks, who has thrown for over 2,700 yards and 33 touchdowns. Behind Weeks is a run attack heralded by Thomas Carruthers. It could be too much for a Hondo defense that’s given up 94 points in three district games. Honda could turn to its run-oriented offense to slow down the pace of play and tame the Texans. Hondo is led by RB Jordan Gomez and RB Cole Frazier.

Lehman Lobos at Leander Lions

When: Friday, Nov. 10 at 7:30 p.m.

Where: A.C. Bible Stadium (Leander)

Last week: Lehman was idle; Westlake 59, Leander 20

Last meeting: Lehman 23, Leander 21

The battle to stay out of the 25-6A cellar hits A.C. Bible Stadium Friday. On one side, the Leander Lions will look to rectify last season’s two-point loss to Lehman, which not only ended their playoff dreams at the time, but also kick started the team’s 10 game losing streak. Leander will bring QB Rashad Carter into the fold, as well as RB’s Xavier Dotson. On the opposite side, Lehman will attempt to end its six game losing streak by using dual threat QB Bryant Lewis and RB Kaleb Priestly.
