Stolen vehicle stop in Buda leads to felony fraud, drug, theft charges

A traffic stop for a possible stolen vehicle last month led to the arrest of man suspected of possessing stolen bank cards and a tampered Florida drivers license.

Leo Peter Lamountain III, 36, of Dallas, was booked into the Hays County Jail June 15 on multiple charges of fraudulent use or possession of identifying information, which is a state jail felony. Lamountain was also arrested for possession of a controlled substance, third-degree felony class, tampering with government records,  a second degree felony, theft of property, which is a third degree felony, and failure to identify as a fugitive, a Class-A misdemeanor.

According to a Buda Police arrest affidavit magistrated by Hays County Pct. 5 Justice of the Peace Scott Cary, officers were dispatched to the 5300 block of Overlook Road for a reported stolen vehicle parked and running in a parking lot.
